Twitter: and

How did you hear about Digital District?

When we were brainstorming names for the new organization! I joined SMCDC after hearing about it through Twitter and was then very excited to be part of the transition to DD.

Why did you apply to join the team?

To meet boys. Oh, wait, no. I’ve always loved the digital space and learning more about how it can impact our lives, both personally and professionally. As a marketer, I wanted to join an organization that would connect me with like-minded folks in a wide variety of industries. SMCDC/DD seemed the like perfect fit!

Who is your favorite person to follow on Twitter?

I swear I’m not saying this as a shameless plug or to be a suck up, but Digital Director is a pretty great follow and one of the people who introduced me to the organization in the first place.

I also really enjoy for food and fun.

For interesting reads, I like and .

And for sports… so many! , , , , and, of course, .

What would you like to accomplish/help make happen in your team role for Digital District?

World Peace. Er, ok, maybe just help bring better awareness to the phenomenal programming the group puts on. Our collective network is pretty incredible and it enables us to bring together fantastic speakers and provide excellent learning and networking opportunities for our members. Also, dollar, dollar bills. Because sponsorship. But, in truth, increasing sponsorship is a major goal for our team this year because sponsor support is what allows us to put on the best events possible and really bring increase the value of our events for all of our guests.

What team are you apart of and how long have you been involved with DD?

I am in my second tenure as Director of Sponsorship and have been with DD since its inception.

DC’s a great place, and there is always something new to do in the city. There is always something new to explore. Tell us about your favorite DC gems.

Where to start? Well, as an avid sports fan (see ), I love going to games, especially to Nats games. I think they are an awesome Friday night outing with friends (though I’ll go any day). I’ve also lately gotten into Wizards games. They aren’t quite as social as baseball games, but they are a lot of fun and there is great energy around the team right now.

To get out and about, I love a good bike ride in Rock Creek Park.

And I am seriously digging the food renaissance this city has undergone in the last 5 years or so. While I still frequent DC staples like Bistro du Coin and Tabard Inn, I really enjoy exploring all the new options springing up around town. Not to mention the recent proliferation of happy hours with $1 oysters. I am always game for those.

Do you favorite a social channel? Why do you like that particular one over another?

It always used to be Twitter. And, while I still love Twitter, especially for sports news, I find myself coming back to Facebook after a brief hiatus. I love social media for news in general – it is definitely my primary source – which I think is why Twitter and FB continue to win out over Instagram and others.

What is one thing we don’t know about you?

I can’t eat bell peppers. Weird, I know.
