After an interesting five year journey as both Social Media Club DC and then Digital District, our organization has helped thousands of people, created hundreds of events, helped connect people to jobs, and relied on the skills and passion of those around DC. For our team, the reward has always been about the pursuit of furthering education; however, today I am proud to announce that the Digital District board has accepted an offer from Yahoo (YHOO). We wanted to be the first to tell you, so that you know our mission will still be intact.
What this means is that we will continue to provide the same structure and mission for DC, but we will begin working with Yahoo to develop global events and programming that support the advancement of the digital space. The organization will also still remain a non-profit, but under the Yahoo umbrella.
Stay tuned to this space for more information about these upcoming changes.
